Notice of Unclaimed Funds – Action Required to Claim Funds
This is public notice advising the residents of Tuolumne County that the court has funds on deposit in the Trial Court Trust Fund. These funds have not been claimed for at least three years since the payment was issued or the funds first became eligible for distribution. Under Gov. Code, § 68084.1(a), the funds will become the property of the superior court if the owner(s) fail to present a claim or file a verified complaint seeking the recovery of the funds by 6/30/2026 a date not less than 45 days nor more than 60 days after first publication of this notice. The individual amounts and details of the unclaimed property are listed in the attached “Notice of Intent” PDF.
If you believe that you, or a person for whom you are a legal guardian or representative, are entitled to all or a portion of the funds held by the superior court, you must submit the claim forms available on the court’s website or file and serve a verified complaint no later than 6/30/2026. The claim forms must be submitted before the date designated herein no later than the normal court closing time of 5:00PM PST.

Claims and inquiries related to escheatment can be emailed to staledatecheck@tuolumne.courts.ca.gov or mailed to the Superior Court of California, County of Tuolumne Fiscal Department at 12855 Justice Center Drive, Sonora, CA 95370. Forms will also be made available in physical form at the clerks windows on the first floor of the court. Physical submission will also be accepted at the clerk windows until 5PM (6/30/2026).
