As of 7/22/2025, the payment system for Traffic and Criminal Pay or Appear is down, meaning payments cannot be accepted on the web or via the automated phone system. We are working to resolve this issue as fast as possible. Payments may still be made by mail or in person.

By mail: Send check, money order or cashier’s check to Superior Court of California, County of Tuolumne, 12855 Justice Center Dr., Sonora, CA 95370, remember to write your case number(s) on your payment method.

In person: At 12855 Justice Center Dr., Sonora, Ca 95370, within the courthouse bring your payment to windows 1-8 between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday (excluding court holidays). Our clerks accept payments made by cash, check, cashier check, debit card or credit card. 

The Honorable Laura L. Krieg

Assistant Presiding Judge

In March of 2020, Judge Laura L. Krieg was elected to fill a vacant judgeship on the Tuolumne County Superior Court bench.  She was sworn in on January 4, 2021. 

Judge Krieg graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with honors.  She received her Juris Doctorate law degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Notre Dame.  Following law school, Judge Krieg joined the firm Thelen Reid & Priest in their San Francisco office.  While there, she specialized in Commercial Litigation, White Collar Criminal Defense, and Construction law. 

Judge Krieg joined the Tuolumne County District Attorney’s Office as a Deputy District Attorney and was later elected to become Tuolumne County’s District Attorney from 2015 through 2020. 

Judge Krieg is a sixth generation native to Tuolumne County.
