Human Resources Function
Human Resources (HR) actively promotes the training and development of Tuolumne County Superior Court employees, monitors employment practices to help ensure legal compliance, and develops HR policies and procedures. HRâ€™s emphasis is a combination of both tactical and strategic approaches, and is considerably strengthened and more effective when in active partnership with staff, supervisors, and management.

Training & Development Programs
These programs can positively affect employee behavior in two ways. In addition to directly improving the skills necessary for employees to successfully perform their jobs, training and development programs offer individuals opportunities to increase motivation and self-confidence.
The Performance Evaluation process offers employees and supervisors the opportunity to mutually assess the employeeâ€™s performance; to highlight the employeeâ€™s accomplishments and development areas; set annual goals and objectives; and provides a basis for determining reward allocations, if appropriate. Employee satisfaction and performance increases when the evaluation is based on behavioral, results-oriented criteria; when employees have an opportunity to actively participate in their evaluations; and when evaluation criteria and process are consistently applied throughout the organization.

How do I apply for a position with the Tuolumne Superior Court?

Can I just send in my resume without an application?
No, we do not accept resumes in lieu of applications. You must submit a completed Tuolumne Superior Court Application and a current resume in order to be considered for a position.
Are Supplemental Applications required for your positions?
Some of our positions do require a Supplemental Application, other positions do not. Please review the application instructions carefully concerning the position you are interested in applying for, to see if a Supplemental Application is required.
Do you accept postmarks?
No. If the mail delivers your completed application packet after the final filing date listed on the announcement, it will not be accepted.
What happens after I submit my application packet for an opening?
All applications will be screened after an openingâ€™s final filing date and applicants will be notified of their status by mail.
What is an eligibility list?
An eligibility list is a list of qualified applicants for a position. When an applicant participates in the recruitment process for a position and is given a score from an examination and/or interview, that personâ€™s name is put on an eligibility list in score/rank order. That personâ€™s eligibility ranking is reviewed when an opening occurs for that position; those names are then used from the list to determine the next stage in the recruitment process for that opening.
I've already submitted my application and resume; how do I update my contact

I am supposed to take a test as part of the application process. How do I schedule the test and do you provide study guides?
Please read the instruction letter you received because each recruitment has its own instructions regarding the testing date and location. Study guides are not provided; however, you can visit your local library, bookstore, or research the internet to find the related study information to assist you in your test preparation. If you have additional questions, please contact the HR Department.
What kind of employment opportunities does the Tuolumne Superior Court offer?
The Tuolumne Superior Court has the following job classifications: Commissioner; Court Clerk I, II, III; Court Project Manager; Court Reporter; Division Manager; Executive Assistant; Family Law Facilitator/Self-Help Attorney; Fiscal Manager; Senior Fiscal Technician; Fiscal Technician; Human Resources Manager; Information Technology Manager; Information Technology Technician; Legal Research Attorney; and Supervising Clerk.
Do Tuolumne Superior Court employees receive benefits?
Yes. All full-time and part-time employees who work at least 20 hours each week receive the following benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; retirement; paid holidays; and personal time off (PTO) [i.e., a combination of vacation and sick leave]. Benefits are pro-rated for eligible part-time employees.
